Luka dominates Suns mavs Move on to the WCF after taking game 7.
Luka Doncic had a monsterous game and the Dallas Mavericks shockingly bounced the Phoenix Suns out of the playoffs to advance to the Western Conference Finals to face the Golden State Warriors.
Doncic was in an absolute zone as he torched the Suns for 35 points and 10 assists and adding 4 rebounds to help the Mavericks eliminate Ch.ris Paul and Devin Booker, whose team was the favorite to win the series coming in and was a favorite to win game 7.
Luka spoke on not being picked to win, saying “First it was Suns in 4. It’s like Trash talking. It gets me going. This was great win”.
Spencer Dinwiddie scored 30 points on 5-7 3 point shooting and Jalen Brunson also added 24 for the Mavs as they maintained a lage lead since midway through the second quarter, eventually winning the game 123-90.
The Suns had no answers for the Mavs all night and with both Chris Paul and Devin Booker struggling only scoring 10 and 11 points with 21 combined between the two, the Suns looked to be beat early in the game.
Both stars were at the podium together to answer questions. Devin Booker expressed disappointment in their performances saying, “We lost, the fashion we did it in, just happened to be the wrong timing”.
“It was a tough game, our defense wasn’t there, our offense wasn’t there, it just didn’t work out for us", Chris Paul said when speaking on how he felt about the loss.
Now, for the Suns is the thought of having to start over and trying to build another team can contend and get back to the situation they believed they were in, which being a championship contender.
“No greater message than get back to work, we was one of 16 teams in the playoffs. you at least want a shot,” Chris Paul said when discussing what’s the message to give to the team to keep the team’s spirit and confidence in making it back high.
The Suns have been one of the best teams, if not the best team the last 2 years and really seemed prominent to get to the finals this year, however they were not able to capitalize on being the biggest favorite to win the NBA Championship this year.
The talk now is will they be back to the same team as they were this year, the answer is soon to be found out in next year’s new season.
The Mavs move on to play the Golden State Warriors Wednesday, May 17th at Oracle Arena in San Francisco, CA.
