Bucks lose to Celtics in Game 7 as Tatum gets his team to the Eastern Conference Finals.
Jason Tatum was extremely happy at the end of game 7 as the Boston Celtics blew out the Milwaukee Bucks 109-81 Sunday night. He celebrated coming back on the Bucks by fist pumping towards the end of the game, after being down 3-2 and beating the Bucks two straight games to advance to the Eastern Conference Finals. Neither team won 2 consecutives games all series.
“It was a great feeling,” Tatum replied when asked how he felt about completing the come back and winning the series. “Tonight was an extreme team effort and I couldn’t be more proud of how we played to get this win.”
Tatum didn’t have the monster game he had in game 6 when he scored 46 to help Boston win in Milwaukee, but he scored 23 points, while grabbing 6 rebounds and dishing out 8 assists.
Jalen Brown chipped in 19 points, 8 assists and 7 rebounds and Grant Williams was a big help, scoring 27 points & giving the Celtics much needed help to pull away from the Bucks.
Giannis Antetokounmpo played well, scoring 25 points on and grabbing 20 rebounds but he shot pourly from the field with 10-26 shooting (1-6 from 3 point range).
The Bucks lacked scoring production from their bench and it was obvious they missed their star forward Kris Middleton all series as they needed extra scoring to help them. “If we had Kris, maybe the outcome would have been different”, said the Greek Freak when asked if the absence of Middleton had an impact on the way the team played.
The Bucks came out with a great Game 1 performance against the Celtics as Giannis dominated that game with a triple double and it seemed as though Milwaukee might be too much for the Celtics and may be looking to get back to the Eastern Conference Finals.
However, Tatum and the crew fought back game to game, making it a battle and eventually taking the last two games of the series to advance.
This was a great series played by two really great teams and the display of superstar talent and legendary moments definitely game the fans what they came to see.
Next up for the Celtics, they take on the Miami Heat in game 1 of the Eastern Conference Finals at the FTX Arena in South Beach, Miami Tuesday night at 8:30 pm Eastern Time.
