Charlo KO’s Castano in 10 to become Undisputed at 154.

Jermell Charlo was determined not to let his second fight with Brian Castano go to the scorecards after seeing their first fight end in a draw he disagreed with.

He came out more aggressive, more explosive and seemingly willing to take risks to land his big shots.

This was an action packed fight in which both fighters showed their ability to punch, standing toe to toe mostly all fight, throwing and landing big shot after big shot.

The fight, although entertaining was being scored heavily on the sid eof the Jermell Charlo by all 3 score cards as he was up by at least 3 rounds on each judges cards heading into the 10th round.

All judges had it in favor of Jermell Charlo with scores of 87-84, 88-83- and 89-82.

Charlo, however would catch Castano with a vicious uppercut that seemed to have a late reaction and seemed to be the punch that put him down. He followed up with a right hook to the body and a left hook to the face, eventually watching Castano fold and crumble seconds after landing his punches.

Castano would get up to beat the first 8 count, but could not mount an attack as Charlo jumped on him quickly in an attempt to stop him eventually doing so after landing 3 big blows to drop him again, watching as the Referee Jerry Cantu waived off the fight giving Charlo his KO to become the Undisputed champion at in the 154 weight division.

Charlo was ecstatic about the win but also demanded his respect after the win in the post fight, stating adamantly, “ Y’all got no choice but to respect this 154 champion undisputed". He has been on record for a while stating that he doesn’t get the respect he deserves.

Proving to be a heavy rematch finisher, he showed flashes of greats such as Floyd Mayweather, who always left no doubts in the minds of boxing fans when he took a rematch, making sure he would win them decisively.

Charlo has now done it twice against Tony Harrison and Brian Castano and was excited for what the future holds, stating in the post fight that he might move up to 160 and challenge there.

Whatever he decides to do, he definitely will have a great trainer in Coach Derrick James training him with the advice of twin brother and also 160 pound champion Jermall Charlo and stable mate and 147 pound champion and the #3 pound for pound fighter in the world Errol “The Truth” Spence.
