Is T.I. Desperate For Attention In Latest 50 Cent Diss?

Rap star T.I., sometimes known as TIP, has released 3 diss songs recently aimed at fellow rap peer and superstar 50 Cent over the last few days and hasn’t stopped since.

Although 50 did put up a post of Tiny (T.I.’s wife), a few days ago on his Instagram, 50 has not said much about T.I. since and has not responded to any of Tip’s disses with any music of his own; so then why does T.I. continue to release more records aimed at 50?

Could a sense of desperation be noticed coming from T.I.? Here are some reasons to support that claim.

T.I. has been mentioning doing a Verzuz battle with 50 for years, a platform created by hip hop producers Swizz Beatz and Timbaland aimed at celebrating rappers catalogues with friendly competition on stage, but has been nothing that 50 seems eager to engage in. T.I. seems to want to prove that he is at least on the level of 50 Cent or even higher.

With these “Verzuz” battles claiming to be celebrations of music artists’ catalogues, it seems to be an actual challenge between two artists to see whose music is and was actually better in their careers when they share the stage on that particular Verzuz battle night.

With T.I. challenging the G Unit boss for quite some time now, it would be fair to state that he wants to prove to both artists’ fan bases and rap fans/listeners everywhere that he is actually the superior artist. Hence the diss records coming full circle.

T.I. has always been known throughout his music career to be an exceptional rapper, and has been known to have an intelligent vocabulary when he raps.

To most hip-hop critics, if asked who the better rapper between 50 Cent and T.I. is, clearly they would chose T.I. However, when it’s come to both rappers’ careers, 50 Cent has T.I. beat in every statistical category. From album sales to single sales, to number one hits on billboard and more, 50 has put up impressive numbers and has accomplished goals that no one has been able to do.

50 in his largest selling album has sold 1.15 million copies in a short week of 4 days with his second album The Massacre in 2005.

His debut album “Get Rich or Die Tryin’” sold 872,000 copies in its first week in 2003, making it the largest hip hop debut album off all time, going on to sell 15 million copies worldwide.

T.I., on the other hand has not seen numbers nowhere as close as those numbers. His largest selling album happened to sell 2.3 million total copies with “Paper Trail” in 2008, while also have it’s largest first week sales of 568,000 copies. While those are great numbers for an artist, it’s nowhere near 50’s best.

With a new album announced recently from T.I. himself, which also happens to be his last album allegedly, it seems like he is using his beef with 50 Cent as a marketing campaign and what most rappers call a “publicity stunt" to actually promote and bring more awareness to his album.

Is T.I. desperate for attention? Is he using his beef to catapult himself up to hip hop elite’s levels and to promote his new album? Let us know what you believe in the comments section below. Follow us on Instagram @officialstreetgossip.
