More words exchange between Gervonta Davis and Devin Haney in build up to potential future fight

The continuance of back & forth chatter on twitter between 2 of boxing’s most talented and rising stars in Devin “The Dream” Haney and Gervonta “Tank” Davis make headlines again.

Fans all around the world love to see the two fighters go at it verbally. They love to take sides and defend their favorite fighters out of the two, but what fans want to see the most is for them to stop fighting on twitter and actually take their real fight inside the ring for some 135 pound championship action.

The issue between both camps has been ongoing for years over a sparring session between Devin and “Tank” and began to heat up again August 30th when Devin decided to retweet a tweet of an article featuring one of Gervonta’s previous opponents, Isaac “Pitbull” Cruz’, in which Cruz stated that he would love to rematch Gervonta in a championship fight in his hometown Mexico so he could avenge his loss to “Tank” and bring the title back.

Blue Blood Sports TV breaks down the back and forth between Gervonta Davis and Devin Haney.

Devin quickly refuted Cruz’ claims of “Tank” being a champion by saying “Wtf he talking bout”, seeming to debunk the notion that Gervonta is a real 135 pound champion since Haney recently became the undisputed lightweight champion at 135 pounds by beating George Kambosos in Kambosos’ hometown of Australia.

Haney has been vocal since he won his title fight against Kambosos that the world has to take notice of him after he now sits on the thrown of the Lightweight Divison and has demanded that everyone from Gervonta to Vasyl Lomachenkcho face him.

Gervonta got word of it and quickly retweeted Devin’s tweet, which has since now been deleted saying “He know who is who… I mean you do too”, aiming that tweet at Devin Haney.

Gervonta is clearly pointing to the fact that he is the more popular and established figher in boxing and on social media with more followers than Haney on all accounts, his number of fan attendance at his fights in which he’s sold out numerous arenas around the US including, Atlanta, his hometown Baltimore, the Barclay’s Center in Brooklyn, NY, the Staples Center in L.A. and others, and clearly his purse bid he sees before and after every fight.

He’s also referring to the way he fights, and fans’ & analysts’ opinions about how much of a dangerous but exciting fighter he is, while many consider Haney a boring fighter, although they do acknowledge that he is talented and skilled.

They continued to take little jabs at each other over the last few days and one has to believe that this is creating a strong desire for both fighters to want to settle this in the ring. We would love to see it end in similar fashion as well. Whatever the hold up, both promotional parties should work them out immediately.

Boxing deserves a fight of this magnitude and deserves to see the best fight the best. Who do you have in a fight between Devin “The Dream” Haney and Gervonta “Tank” Davis? Let us know your thoughts in the comment section below.
