REMY MA Gets Her Own Street Sign.

Saturday May 14th, Remy Ma stood outside, proudly unveiling her name sketched on a street sign on the Bronx Walk Of Fame.

Remy Ma was accompanied by her Husband Papoose, her label boss & friend Fat Joe, Bronx borough president Vanessa L. Gibson and deputy president Janet Peguero who were there to support and congratulate her on all her years of not only being a native of the Bronx, but her continued support and work she does in her community of the city.

Remy Ma, emotional, reflected on her past transgressions and success as she wrote on her Instagram post saying, “Today I was given my own street sign in The Bronx! I've come so far from the girl that used to take the 6 train and ride the Bx22 bus. I've had to go to court across the street from where that sign is, I've lived in a shelter down the block from where that sign is…”

“I've went to high school a few lights up from where that sign is, I debuted one of the biggest songs of my career is the stadium behind where that sign is... I appreciate & am so thankful for where I am, I wouldn't change a thing about where I've come from, and I'm excited to see where I'm going A Thank you Bronx Borough President, @msvanessa77 and Deputy Borough President @jpegnyc for this honor.”

Remy Ma has surely had a wonderful career of highs and lows, much comparable to her life prior to fame she speaks of in her excerpt on her Instagram account.

The female rapper has seen number one hits such as the success of her feature on Fat Joe's “Lean Back” record in 2004 & had great radio success with her own single “Conceited”, which debuted a few years later in 2006.

She then found herself in trouble as she was sentenced to eight years in prison in 2008. She was convicted of intentional assault after the 2007 shooting of a woman who happened to be a member of her team.

She began to work on her image and gained a lot of positive achievements while being in a tough position. She married longtime Husband & hip hop artist Papoose in jail (which they later remarried a few years after her release in 2014).

Remy got her Associate’s Degree during her six-year stretch. As part of her program, she had to write a study titled “Situational Homosexuality” that explored the different circumstances that might motivate someone to expand their sexuality.

After her release on August 1st, 2014 she jumped into reality TV, being casted on VH1's “Love and Hip” with Husband Papoose, which saw them remarry on television in 2016. She got back into music releasing a few singles with Fat Joe, including hit single “All The Way Up” and the following album “Plata O Plomo” in 2017

She also won an award for BET's “Best Female Hip Hop Award” and welcomed her daughter Reminisce alongside Papoose in 2018.

She's had a great rebound career after watching her career be sidelined for 6 & 1/2 years and has continued to help females further themselves in Hip Hop creating a platform for female battle emcees to gain equal pay as male emcees with her battle league “Chrome 23”.

Congratulations to Remy Ma on a such a great achievement!
