Lloyd Banks Drops Halloween Havoc IV
Lloyd Banks just dropped Halloween Havoc IV a week ago, and it sounds like the “PLK” (Punchline King) is back to his old ways. From the opening track “Above The Law” all the way through his last track in “Condolences” he brings heavy bar spitting, great lyrical flow and ability, while also bringing a catchy style and cadence in every song.
For years, Banks has been dropping project after project, putting out the “Halloween Havoc”, “Cold Corner” and DJ Drama series, while also maintaining to drop singles and videos as well. Most of Lloyd Banks’ core fan base has always stayed around throughout the years, and that’s one of the main reasons why he’s been able to stay relevant.
However, his strained and broken relationship with label boss and friend 50 Cent didn’t help as he has seen a lot of mainstream critics, fans and casual supporters disappear, but he has been able to maintain respect in the hip hop community with his lyrical ability and rap style.
This latest project from Lloyd Banks shows he still has the ability to bring great music to the forefront as he’s always been doing, however this time it feels like the mainstream hip hop fans have also noticed it as well again.
We give this Ep a 10 out of 10 and look forward to seeing what Banks is bringing next. He has recently promised to put another “Cold Corner” Ep out. However, this time he has stated his intentions to charge $100 for his efforts, believing that true fans won’t mind supporting his idea to do so.
We’ve seen that same idea work previously, with recently deceased hip hop legend Nipsey Hussle creating and using that same idea and formula for his “Crenshaw” mixtape with DJ Drama to bring awareness to his album, believing that his core fan base would support him in his efforts.
It worked for Nipsey Hussle as he created tons of conversation in hip hop around that time, and even got hip hop legend Jay Z to cosign him by buying 1,000 copies of the mixtape for $10,000
Lloyd Banks hopes to have the same success and effect with his fan base and believes he deserves the same support.
Good luck to Lloyd Banks in his new attempt to bring relevance back to his hip hop career.
