It Is What It Is Podcast Responds To Shakur Stevenson Diss

Professional boxing star Shakur Stevenson fought Saturday night, July 6 in his hometown of Newark, New Jersey, defending his 135 pound WBC lightweight title against contender Artem Harutyunyan and defeated him in a wide unanimous decision victory.

Stevenson looked dominant, but most fans, critics and even rival boxers of his around the world were far less impressed with his performance than he would have liked.

Boxers like Frank “The Ghost” Martin, who is recently coming off of a 8th round knockout loss to WBA Lightweight Champion Gervonta Davis tweeted with all sleeping emojis on his X account, implying that Stevenson’s performance put him to sleep.

Superstar boxer Ryan Garcia who also lost to Davis last July also tweeted, claiming that he didn’t see the fight but that he heard it was boring.

“Skipped rehab for this s**t”, Garcia posted. He also decide to ask fans, “was Shakur fight that boring?”, mocking him for a lackluster performance.

Hip Hop & Rap superstars turned podcasters Cam’Ron and Mase both spoke on their “It Is What It Is” podcast show a day after the Stevenson fight and gave their opinions about his performance. Neither one of them gave positive reviews.

“I don’t want to see Shakur fight nobody,” Mase stated. He then continued, “For him to be hanging out with Terence Crawford (current 147 pound welterweight champion) and Andre Ward (retired undefeated light heavyweight champion) there is absolutely no way that he’s fighting the way he’s fighting, he’s not an offensive (aggressive) fighter.”

Stevenson caught wind of the comments made by both Mase and Cam’Ron and decided to take to his X account to strike back.

“You know what irks me?” he asked. “When n****s talk boxing but ain’t never glove up. That fat m*****f****r Mase and big teeth Cam’Ron need to shut up. Tell them to glove up or shut up”

Cam’Ron and Mase decided to respond to Stevenson’s rant again on their podcast and we have the clip right here.
