Canelo Alvarez Vs. Jermell Charlo Is Next
Saul Canelo Alvarez takes on Jermell Charlo for the “Undisputed” 168 pound middleweight championship on Saturday, September 30, at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada, and this promises to be nothing but fireworks.
These are two highly skilled fighters who both fight with power, aggression and determination.
Jermell Charlo is facing a difficult task, however, as he is stepping up two weight classes to take on Canelo, daring to be great and chase rare boxing legacy.
If Charlo manages to defeat Canelo he will become an undisputed champion in two weight divisions at the same time.
He will join rare air, as Terence “Bud” Crawford is the only fighter to have accomplished that as recently as 3 weeks ago, as he beat Errol “The Truth” Spence Jr. to accomplish that same status.
Charlo will have his hands full and work cut out for him, fighting a seemingly more assertive Canelo who acknowledges that he didn’t do his best in his last two recent fights, and swears to be better.
“I didnt look my best in the last two fights. I know who I am, I’m ready, you’re gonna see something different,” he stated when asked by showtime announcer Brian Custer about his ability to continue to get things done in the ring.
Charlo had his own confidence as well about why Canelo will not be as difficult for him to beat as many think he will be. “I’m not the little Charlo, I’m the big Charlo,” he said, speaking on his ability to beat Canelo.
Charlo always brings a flare with him to press conferences and events and he usually has a lot of drama with him, and although he flashed subtle moments of small energetic confidence, he seemed relatively reserved and poised in the two press conferences that took place in New York and Los Angeles.
These two seem ready to fight and we can’t wait to see what they bring inside the ring on Saturday, September 30th, when they square off with each other at the T Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada.
