LeBron James Still Playing At High Level At Age 40

LeBron James is putting up an incredible resume as one of the greatest basketball players in NBA history, and here’s why.

In year 20, at the age of 40 years old (which in NBA years is more comparable to 100 years), he is still averaging 24.5 points per game as well as 7 rebounds and 8 assists.

Pay attention to that stat line and pause for a second to think— he is doing this at age 40!!! Most players in NBA history are lucky to average 24 points for their entire careers, while in their prime, and King James is doing it at 40 years of age.

He has never had a season where he has averaged less than 25 points per game, and he is averaging 27 for his career.

The amazing thing about it all is that most NBA fans and critics do not consider James to be a pure scorer in the first place. He still has elite speed, his IQ is still as high as its ever been and he still can dunk and create amazing posters for kids and fans to hang up on their walls from out of a SLAM or ATHLETIC magazine.

How much time does LeBron have left? He seems to believe he can play at an elite level for at least another five years, but will he?

Can he continue to create spectacular highlight reels filled with one amazing dunk after another, or continuous three point baskets?

There is no telling how much time James has but if there’s one thing for certain, it’s that he does not seem to be slowing down right now.
