50 Cent VS T.I.

A while back, maybe a year or so, rap artist and superstar T.I. has been trying to bait legendary superstar rap artist, turned business mogul 50 Cent into a “Verzuz” battle, a business platformed owned by superproducers Swizz Beatz and Timbaland, which showcases two of Hip Hop’s top artists in history going head to head with live performances of 20 of their greatest hits in their careers.

In this battle, 50 Cent would seem to be the favorite to be victorious, seeing how he has had a bigger impact on the rap game in his first solo attempt and debut album “Get Rich or Die Tryin’” which sold over 15 million copies around the world and 10 million copies in the United States.

Not only has 50 had the bigger debut album but he has also had the bigger career than T.I. selling more than twice as many copies as T.I. worldwide with 30 million album sales from 50, compared to 14 million album sales for T.I.

To T.I.’s credit, he has put out great albums and lots of great hits, stringing together 4 great successful albums with Urban Legend, K.I.N.G., T.I. vs T.I.P. and Paper Trail all having great commercial success, with T.I. seeing the height and pinnacle of his career.

Although it did not receive great commercial success in album sales T.I.’s comeback album “Trouble Man: Heavy is the Head” (which was released after he did a 2 year prison stint for being caught with 10 machine guns and violating his release by having a lemo pull up to escort him from prison during his first stint), had great hit singles on it , including “Trap Back Jumping”, “About The Money” featuring Young Thug, “Mediocre” featuring Iggy Azalia and “Ball” featuring Lil’ Wayne.

With all that success, some fans and critics such as Charlamane Tha God, who announced it on Power 105.1’s “The Breakfast Club” at the time, believe that T.I. has a chance, while others believe that 50 Cent can beat him with just his debut album “GRODT” alone.

All OSG Online decided to look at some of the stats, which was very interesting. During 50 Cent’s peak and pinnacle of his career, he had 3 songs, 2 off of “The Massacre album and one off of The Game’s “The Documentary” album that peaked at 2, 3 and 4 on the Billboard 100, all beating out T.I.’s one song at the time “Bring’em Out” which was a huge hit and propelled T.I. into his superstar status.

Those 50 Cent songs were, “How We Do” with The Game sitting at number 2, “Candy Shop” featuring Olivia sitting at number 3, and “Disco Inferno”, sitting at number 4, with T.I.’s “Bring’em Out” sitting at number 5. All of these songs had been on the charts for relatively the same amount of time.

The only song 50 Cent was trailing behind was Usher and Lil’ John’s “Lover and Friends” song featuring southern legendary artist Ludacris. With that being said, it’s easy to see how bigh of an impact 50 Cent had on the hip hop world and how big of a force he was.

That gives some insight on where things may go with 50 Cent and T.I., if a “Verzuz” battle was set up between the two. Let us know what you think and how you feel a battle would go between the two artist if they ever agreed to do a “Verzuz” battle in the comments section below.
